13 October 2015: Destination British Columbia, which leads the marketing of the Canadian Province as a tourism destination, has appointed KBC to handle its travel media relations and travel trade presence in the UK.
North America specialist KBC (www.kbc-pr.com), which currently represents 13 US states, secured separate media and trade contracts following an RFQ process which began in June 2015. The agency will undertake a range of PR, social media, and sales and marketing activities to increase tourism to British Columbia. KBC will work to implement Destination British Columbia’s corporate strategy in the UK, focussing on key iconic product and remarkable experiences in British Columbia. Activity has already commenced and the agency will report to Stephanie Fielden, Market Development Manager, Europe & South Pacific.
Maria Greene, Destination British Columbia’s Director, Overseas Marketing commented: “KBC impressed us with their clear understanding of our corporate strategy and objectives, as well as the role BC plays within the overall Canadian tourism mix. They had a clear vision and huge enthusiasm for BC, and we are looking forward to working with them.”
KBC Chief Executive Kate Burgess-Craddy added: “British Columbia is the Canada UK travellers dream of – spectacular landscapes, great cities surrounded by nature, amazing wildlife. It is a privilege to have been chosen to represent this fantastic destination and we will use the Province’s many remarkable experiences to inspire British travellers to visit.”
KBC Account Director Jo Thomas and Junior Account Manager Claire Ranganathan will oversee the PR and social media activity.
