Boston Pops Spectacular, Massachusetts

3- 4 July 2015

Massachusetts’ Boston Pops Spectacular is America’s premier Independence Day celebration and performance. A Boston holiday tradition, hundreds of thousands gather to celebrate America’s birthday on the banks of the Charles River and witness a true spectacle of fireworks and musical performances. The Boston Pops Orchestra will lead an extravagant celebration, including a famous rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” which features real cannons and the ringing of church bells.  www.july4th.org

 

Maine Lobster Festival, Maine

29 July – 2 August 2015

The Maine Lobster Festival overlooking Rockland’s Penobscot Bay is America’s premier seafood and lobster event. From lobster rolls to lobster Caesar salads, find a variety of traditional Maine dishes in nine tents overlooking the bay, a large celebration and parade, a lobster race over crates floating in the water, a lobster cooking contest, rock and blues musical performances and tours of the US Coast Guard Barque Eagle. Rockfire, Vermont

26-28 June 2015

Rockfire utilises Vermont’s landscapes to create an awe-inspiring night-time art installation of fire in the city of Barre. Attended by hundreds of art lovers each year, the 2015 festival will feature a three-mile procession of fire art work, thousands of bonfires, live fire performances,  fire dances, candles and a range of stunning, illuminated installations and displays in abandoned quarries and granite ruins.  www.rockfirevt.com

Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, Connecticut

17 – 19 July, 2015

This word-class jazz event in the heart of Hartford attracts tens of thousands of jazz enthusiasts every year, and is set to be bigger and better in 2015 with an impressive line-up of talented, world class performers. Free of charge, the festival will see performers grace the main stage of the Thomas D. Harris IV Pavilion in the beautiful Bushnell Park. New England Brewfest, New Hampshire

27 – 28 June 2015

Tap into the New England beer scene in historic Lincoln, New Hampshire.  New England Brewfest is the region’s premier brewery and craft beer event. Situated in Lincoln’s local shops in the heart of the White Mountains, learn about and sample hundreds of regional craft beers from 33 breweries at tastings, workshops, lectures and special events. Waterfire, Rhode Island

Various Saturdays from 23 May-7 November 2015

Attracting tens of thousands every year, Waterfire is one of the world’s most unique and spectacular visual art experiences. Taking place on the waterways of historic Downtown Providence in America’s smallest state, Rhode Island, the free event takes place at intervals throughout the summer and will see the lighting of thousands of 100 bonfires strategically placed along the city’s waterways to celebrate air, fire and water. Amid the flickering firelight, visitors will be entertained by live music and entertainment.  www.waterfire.org
