Visit Calvia Launches Free Winter Excursion Programme
**Packages Included Below **
Calvia, a municipality located in the southwest region of Majorca, boasts a mild winter temperature (between 14°-18°), which is why Visit Calvia has worked with the region’s hotel associations to develop an enhanced winter programme to encourage visitors to extend their stay in the beautiful region during the UK’s winter months.
Visitors staying at Ponent Mar, Roc Portnova Apartments , Vistasol Hotel and Apartments and Viva Palmanova can take advantage of ‘Calvia, European Winter’, the Association’s new tourist programme, which runs from December 2014 until March 2015.
The programme offers tourists a wide variety of FREE cultural excursions throughout and surrounding the region, which include Mallorca wine tasting tours, guided walks to the spectacular rooftop structure Santueri Castle, and the opportunity to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Botanicactus and Ses Salines markets. Tourists can also join a guided walk to Es Capdella, the start of the Tramuntana Mountains and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
To take part in the ‘Calvia, European Winter’ programme, guests of on of the three named hotels must make their reservations in advance in order to secure their place, especially for excursions over the weekends.
During an extended stay in the Calvia region, visitors can also climb their way through two new picturesque hiking routes or cycle with Tour de France winner Stephen Roche, who is celebrating 20 years since the opening of his first bike station in the region. Calvia is also home to some world-class golf courses that welcome visitors to play throughout the winter.
