The original Power Breakfast was born at the Loews Regency in Manhattan 40 years ago – but now the iconic business breakfast is set to cross America to the West Coast as the new Loews Regency San Francisco will launch its own version in 2016.
Loews Hotels & Resorts first coined the Power Breakfast tradition at the Loews Regency New York in 1975, when America’s leading politicians and business leaders would – at the invitation of Loews’ Co-CEO Bob Tisch – hold important meetings about how to tackle the financial crisis over breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant. Today, the breakfast is still popular with celebrities and the business and political elite of America.
The new Power Breakfast at the Loews Regency San Francisco will be the first to launch outside of New York City in early 2016, catering for busy elite on the West Coast who want to conduct business meetings over eggs and coffee.
The traditional Power Breakfast menu includes a range of classic and modern egg and omelette dishes, a hearty American breakfast dish and several healthier options, paired with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, USB charging ports and private meeting areas.
Loews Hotels & Resorts plan to launch the Power Breakfast at a number of its 23 properties across North America in the coming years.
Located in the heart of the city’s Financial District, the Loews Regency San Francisco joined the Loews Regency New York to mark the creation of the Loews Regency brand this year. Situated on the top floors of San Francisco’s third-tallest office building, the hotel showcases stunning views of the city and its bay, and boasts 155 guest rooms, a Brasserie S&P restaurant, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space and a new 8,000 square foot spa and fitness centre.
The Loews Regency New York reopened in 2014 following a major $100 million renovation and boasts a contemporary new restaurant and design throughout, 379 newly refurbished guest rooms including 54 premier suites, an innovative and stylish new bar, new private meeting spaces including 4 executive boardrooms, a 24-hour 1,700 square-foot state-of-the-art fitness centre and a new salon and anti-ageing spa headed up by celebrity stylist Julien Farel.
