GRAMMY Award-Winning Musician Zac Brown opens Distillery in North Georgia Mountains

by | Apr 13, 2018 | Press Releases

Tucked into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and founded upon a deep-rooted respect for the long-standing, pre-prohibition traditions of making spirits in North Georgia and Appalachia sits the newly opened Z. Brown Distillery.

Not only is the distillery a return to his hometown, Dahlonega, but GRAMMY award-winning country musician Zac Brown, of Zac Brown Band’s new whisky business combines history, tradition and culture to create a truly American-made drink.

Set to be rolling out brandy, bourbon and gin, Brown’s latest venture has generated a lot of excitement amongst his large social media following, keen to take part in tastings and tours – and maybe even catch a glimpse of the singer behind-the-scenes.

The ‘Chicken-Fried’ country music star has gone into business with master distiller, Jeff Odem from Dahlonega’s Stillhouse Creek Distillery, now known as Z. Brown Distillery. The distillery isn’t Brown’s first encounter with the food and drink industry, he already owns a winery in Napa Valley and is collaborating with the Atlanta Hawks to open a southern-style restaurant in Philips Arena, Atlanta as part of its ongoing $192.5 million renovation.

Site of the first major gold rush in America, Dahlonega offers an authentic mountain getaway just an hour north of Atlanta. A destination hub in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains, Dahlonega plays host to year-round weddings, waterfall and wildlife seekers, and world-renowned cycling events. With five wineries nearby and its newly opened distillery, what’s not to like!
