#VIFL50LDN Experiential Event
When one of the world’s best-known travel brands turns 50, there’s plenty of reason to celebrate! We embraced this milestone for Virginia Is For Lovers as the perfect opportunity to showcase the many highlights of a Virginia vacation experience through a series of interactive activities, creating an immersive journey through the state for travel trade, media and international business contacts based in the UK.
This event fused tradition with high tech: our History Lovers section of the room used giant selfie mirrors in front of historic homes; Film Lovers enjoyed a ‘silent movie’ section showcasing TV and films shot in Virginia; Wine, Beer and Cider Lovers used iPads with details of the Virginia-produced beverages to be tasted; Garden Lovers walked through a hand-made arboretum reflecting the beautiful gardens of Virginia; Music Lovers watched an LED video wall playing a showreel of the wonderful festivals hosted annually in Virginia.
Throughout the event guests were encouraged to take selfies and post them to social media using #VIFL50LDN – in an interesting and impactful twist, all images were then printed out on site and pieced together to create a mosaic of the Virginia Is For Lovers 50th logo, so that every attendee became a part of the story!
